Vacuum Pump (Flovv Option)

The Vacuum Pump is a paid hardware option for the standard Flovv. It connects to the A and B component tanks and pulls the air dissolved in the material out before you cast. With degassed components the mix that reaches the mold carries no bubbles, so parts come out with smooth surfaces and no internal voids.

Features

• Tank connection: connects to Flovv's A and B tanks and holds the component under vacuum in the tank.
• Bubble-free casting: air trapped during mixing and filling, and air dissolved in the material, is removed before the shot.
• Surface quality: pinholes and bubble defects on visible surfaces are markedly reduced.
• Connection set included: ships with the pump unit, tank hose and fittings.
• Dealer-installed: order it with the machine or have it retrofitted to a Flovv you already own.

What It Does

Polyurethane and resin components pick up air while being mixed and poured, and that air stays in the cured part as bubbles on the surface and voids inside. The vacuum pump removes it in the tank, before it can ever reach the mold. The difference is most visible on clear castings, finely detailed molds and visible surfaces that will be painted. Vacuum degassing is already standard on Flovv Pro and Flovv Industrial; this option is for the standard Flovv.
